1997年 早稲田大学法学部卒業
1999年 ロンドン・スクール・オブ・エコノミクスにてMSc in Media and Communications(修士号)を修了。
読売新聞の英字紙『The Daily Yomiuri』で記者として映画、アート、サッカーなどを担当した後、イギリスの出版社Haymarket Media Group(本社ロンドン)に転職。以後、編集者として働き『エスクァイア日本版』を経て独立。現在は、国内外の各種メディアやクリエイティブエージェンシーでエディトリアル制作や広告のディレクション、編集、執筆、翻訳などの仕事を日本語・英語の両言語で行う。旅行クチコミサイト『トリップアドバイザー』日本版立ち上げにも携わったほか、日本企業のウェブサイト、CSRレポートやプレゼン資料の英訳・英語制作も手がける。

shogo hagiwara
editor, writer and translator
Graduated from Waseda University (BA in Law) in 1997.
Received MSc in Media and Communications at London School of Economics and Political Science in 1999.
Shogo started his career as a journalist at the English-language newspaper The Daily Yomiuri, reporting on a variety of subjects including film, art and football, before making a move to the British publisher Haymarket Media Group (headquartered in London), where he served as a magazine editor. After a subsequent spell at Esquire Japan, Shogo left the magazine to launch oval inc to offer more comprehensive media services both in Japanese and English. He has since worked closely with several Japanese and foreign media firms and advertising agencies, variously in the capacity of project director, editor, writer and translator. Once involved in the Japanese launch of the website Tripadvisor, he has also helped Japanese companies create website content, CSR reports and other presentation materials for the English-language market.
